Skytech Rolling is a known exporter and stockist of Stainless Steel 431 Square Bars, which are optimized for high hardness, and other properties are to some degree compromised. These SS 431 Square Bars, however, cannot be cold - worked owing to their high yield strength, hence they are suitable for operations such as spinning, deep drawing, bending or cold heading. Our Alloy 431 Square Bars is characterized by very good corrosion resistance in general atmospheric corrosive environments, resistant to many organic materials, good resistance to mild marine and industrial atmospheres, nitric acid and petroleum products coupled by means of high tensile and high yield strength plus excellent toughness in the hardened and tempered condition. The nitriding process however reduces the corrosion resistance and these Grade 431 Square Bars is therefore not generally recommended except for critical applications where the benefit outweighs all other considerations.
In the fully annealed condition, our Type 431 Square Bars will gall and build up on the tools, where further good surface finishes are not easily obtained. These Stainless Steel UNS S43100 Square Bars is often used in the aerospace industry as fittings and boltings requiring high yield strength, where the excellent corrosion resistance also lends itself well to the marine industry. As a martensitic stainless steel with a 17 % chromium and 2.5 % nickel content, our 431 Stainless SS Square Bars is usually supplied in the hardened but still machineable condition
